PCI-Express

PCI-Express is now the mainstream of expansion cards.

As one-lane PCI-Express x1, high transfer rate to allow more than one lane bundles, x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, there are standards.

500MB / s per lane in PCI Express 1.1 (250MB / s per One way)

1GB / s of double in the PCI Express 2.0 (500MB / s per One way)

2GB / s of double in the PCI Express 3.0 (1GB / s per One way)

"PCI Express 2.0 x 16" is the transfer speed of 1GB / s × 16 = 16GB / s.

AGP(Accelerated Graphics Port)

Old graphics card.

AGP is "PCI-Express x 16" are replaced.

The PCI expansion card was the mainstream.Now being replaced with PCI-Express.

PCI and PCI-X is compatible. (Limited to operate 3.3V)

"PCI" and "PCI-Express" is not compatible.
